Want to make movies and comics or just draw pictures? In this workshop, led by a producer for Alabama Public Television, you will get a crash course in one of the basic components of visual storytelling: the storyboard. You’ll draw, you’ll write, you’ll share your story with the group. You’ll even watch a little SpongeBob for inspiration!

Free workshops for all ages. No registration necessary.
Different branches of the Birmingham Public Library.
This spring, young writers from across Birmingham will write snail mail postcards to the people of Qeqertarsuaq, an island off the coast of Greenland also known as Disko Island.

What happens when a community shares its stories? Come to this culmination of DISCO’s Woodlawn Stories project and find out. A partnership between DISCO, Woodlawn High School and Treasure Arts, Inc., this project was funded with a grant from the Kresge Arts in Birmingham program and the Cultural Alliance of Greater Birmingham.
