DISCO is participating in YP Birmingham’s Bidding for Birds silent auction later this month.
DISCO’s silent auction package will be a collection of desert island reads.
That’s where you come in: What is the book that you would have to have with you if you were stranded on a desert island?
We’d love for you to donate a copy of that book — new or gently used — and inscribe it with a few sentences about why it is your must-have book. (Authors, if you’d like to include an autographed copy of your own book instead of or in addition to your desert island read, that’ll work.)
We’ll present this collection as our Desert Island Library and package it in a large (but appropriately worn) treasure chest.
Contributions are due by Thursday, August 12. If you are interested in participating, email us at help@desertislandsupplyco.com for details about where you can drop off your book. Thank you!

I have to say “The Anubis Gates” by Tim Powers. Every English Major with an imagination should read it
. It has everything; poets, gypsies, werewolves, time-travel, clones… should I go on? I read it at least once a year and I'm always entertained!
